Projects

Here is a list of my projects that I have completed within the last four years. Some projects are educational related, some are commercial. Most are live and being update daily, Feel free to email or comment. Thank you for visiting my projects page. 

 

Northwest MN Soil and Water Districts

This is a project with the University of Minnesota, Crookston and sixteen counties in the Northwest Region of Minnesota. The project lasted two years and is continually being monitored and updated by each county, the hosted server managers, and myself.

This is a simple hosted content management website.
Using the open source Metadot software this portal was designed to help each county have an open access to user privedges, content, images, and data located in one centalized location. Clients, Users, and citizens of each county can obtain current news, calendars, forms, links, and contact information for their county or other.

• Clients: Northwestern Minnesota Conservation Destricts - East Polk, West Polk, Kittson, Norman, Rosseua, Red Lake, Beltrami, Pennington, Clay, West and East Ottertail, Wilkin, Becker, and Mahnomen
• Audience: The conservation departments, contractors, partners, instructors, and civilians in each county.

Design

Design of this site is based on PHP, with CCS holding the text and layout. Javascript managing navigation, and Flash enhancing XML feeds and images.
News feeds are embedded in the HTML with Flash and XML in the backgrd
User can log on to their individual account to check email, recieve applied access for data and content from their speicific regions.
User management is a key tool for the each regional admin. Admin can add delete, control access to regions on site.

University Opt. Research Project-UROP

University Opportunity Research Project was coordinated with the Career and Counseling Department at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. The project lasted a year with full cooperation from all department and schools at UMC. The Alumni department, staff and coaches also contributed content to complete this research project. The project was used to enhance the employability of UMC graduates and alumni. After the research was conducted it was printed for campus distrubution to department heads. The project was also put online for public veiwing on a website in PDF format. The project was presented in front of all department heads, and all Vice Chancellors at the University.

• Clients: Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Director of Career and Counseling, UMC Alumni Association, and All department heads for UMC
• Audience: The Universit of Minnesota community, students, alumni, parents, instructors, and employers.

Graphs and charts were created in excel using formulas and pasted in the word document.
Geographic research and distinct location of each job location and student employer location helps the University gauge partnerships among states and corporation.

Photoshop was used to resize images and create many of the graphics in the report.

Polk County Health Care-Parenting Blog

This blog site was created to enhance collaborative parenting in Polk County. The Polk County Health Department promoted the creation of the site. The site is a Word Press content management blogging site.

• Clients: Polk County Health Department
• Audience: The citizens of Polk County and the general public who utilize the internet.

The site is PHP based with templates that can be edited in the design mode. The site has updated spam protection, a log on for everyday users, and an admin section for the Clients at the PCH to access add and make changes to the blog at will.

The site has a calendar that has information about current events in the city for parents and children, and at the Polk County Health Department.

The site touches on many topics that are managed by users and staff at the PHC. The site also host a seasonal newsletter that can be read or downloaded in Word or PDF format.

 

SIFE UMC Chapter website

University of Minnesota, Crookston Sife team website. Designed to show activities, calendar, members, awards, and news. The Sife Busingess team is the most active organization on the Univesity of Minnesota Campus. They have won numerous awards for their business inginuity, outread in the community, national competitions. They needed a site to display some of thier events and awards.

• Audience: The SIFE community, The University of Minnesota community, students, alumni, parents, instructors, and employers.

 

Communication Club Website-UMC

This site was designed for the Communication Club at the University of Minnesota, Crookston. I had a lot of fun designing this site. I had no constraints or complaints once the site was completed. One of my better websites, although it is very basic and static.

• Audience: The Universit of Minnesota community, students, alumni, parents, instructors, and employers.

 

Career and Counseling- Website

I have been the webmaster for the Career and Counseling website for 4 years now. We have just made some changes to the templates this year with help of RYO an exchange kid from Japan. Here are some of the pages I have designed for the Career and Counseling Dept over the years. .

• Clients: Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, Director of Career and Counseling, UMC Alumni Association, and All department heads for UMC
• Audience: The Universit of Minnesota community, students, alumni, parents, instructors, and employers.

This is the parents section of the career and counseling department a basic static site with images, and icons manipulated in Adobe Photoshop.

This Gold Pass site is the entry point to the University of Minnesota campus job portal. Each student and faculty can create an account and leave their resume, cover letter, information of interest on the site.

This page is the Alcohol, Tobbacco, and Drugs awareness site designed for the students in the community.

This site was designed as a career link site for library in conjunction with the career and counseling office.T this site was designed to enhance students accessiblity to the job resources in the school library.

 

Crookston Aviation-Website

This was one of my first contract websites designed for Miller Aviation, Crookston Aviation, and Crookston Airport. This site is a basic HTML static site with Adobe Flash embedded through out to show pertinate images.

 

• Clients: Miller Aviation, Crookston Aviation, and the Crookston Airport.
  
• Audience: The Crookston, Minnesota community, pilots, contractors, partners, instructors, and public.

NW Minnesota Counselors Association

Site designed for the Northwestern Minnesota Counselors. This site shows membership, current events, images, and links. One of the most important features of the site is the directory giving members and public and opportunity to search and find contacts in their area.

• Clients: Northwestern Minnesota Counselors Assocition, the counseling department at the University of Minnesota, Crookston
• Audience: The Northwestern Minnesota community, students, alumni, parents, instructors, and employers.

Directory can be adjusted by quick linking to the person last name.

 

UMC Soccer Club

This was my third club site done for a club that i belonged to for three years.

UMC BLACK STUDENT ASSOCIATION

This was one of my first contract websites that didnt work out in the end the club decided to just go with a text formatted site that would be easier for club memebers to update.

This was my first club website done in a group as a school project.

CARE AND SHARE FOREVER

This was one of my first contract websites that didnt work out in the end the organization decided to just go something else. They also had a very small budget which consist of nothing.

UMC HORSEMANS CLUB

The horsemans club at the university of minnesota, crookston is the pride of our campus they happen to be the most winningest team at our university always achieving high scores at all events.
